Western Washington University’s Everett Weekend MBA Program Taking Applications for 2012 School Year

(PRWEB) June 02, 2011

Western Washington University is accepting applications for its Master in Business Administration (MBA) program in Everett, with classes to begin in January 2012.

This is to be the second cohort for the MBA program, which has proven popular with students who appreciate the weekend-based class schedule and the instructors who are full-time faculty members of Western’s College of Business and Economics.

“The convenient location, outstanding instruction and flexibility of meeting on alternating weekends provide students the opportunity to balance work, family and their pursuit of an MBA. The program is tailored to meet the needs of professional working adults,” said Juergen Kneifel, current MBA student in WWU’s Everett program.

Another current Everett MBA student, Krista McCabe, said, “I considered all the factors I could think of: Small cohort size, general business degree, flexibility and reputation of program, cost, every-other weekend schedule, location, ease of application process. I had considered other MBA programs and nothing could really offer the combined package that Western could.”

The WWU Weekend MBA program at Everett meets Friday afternoon-evening and all day Saturday, every other weekend for five weekends per quarter for eight quarters, with traditional quarter breaks. Western has positioned its MBA program to be affordable and it is intended for managers and professionals. No particular specialization or management level is required, which enables the program to attract a diverse group where different perspectives enrich the learning climate.

Administered under the direction of Dr. Craig Dunn, Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Programs at CBE; and Associate Director of MBA Programs, Dan Purdy, the program has served to further expand, throughout the Puget Sound Region, Western’s reputation for excellence. With eleven students currently enrolled, the first cohort of this 2-year, 64-credit program will graduate Fall Quarter 2011.

The WWU MBA Program has been offering graduate business education in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years. WWU’s program is AACSB accredited, placing it in the top 5% of business schools in the world, and it has been ranked in the top 100 programs worldwide by the Aspen Institute.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply now to ensure all enrollment requirements are met by the application deadline of Nov. 15.

An Information Meeting will be held from 6-7:00 p.m. on June 14 and July 26, at University Center of North Puget Sound, Gray Wolf Hall, Room 380, 2000 Tower Street, Everett. Directions and program details are available on the program’s Web site at http://www.wwu.edu/weekendmba. If you have questions, please contact weekendmba(at)wwu(dot)edu or (360) 650-7780.
